As most fans of college football know, Pete Carroll has departed the USC Trojan program, in favor of once once more returning towards the NFL – this time to coach the Seattle Seahawks. Lane Kiffen has been chosen to replace Carroll, and he represents a turning on the page in far more approaches than one particular.  If you’ve never heard of Kiffen, you may perhaps have at the least heard with the controversy that has surrounded him. He was a train-wreck waiting to happen during his single year at Tennessee, even though he was thought to be the Volunteers’ Messiah when he was 1st hired. The school expected somebody who would not only reform their system, but revamp and reload it as well. Most fans believed him the perfect coach for their beloved team. Imagine their surprise when he took the next job that appeared on the horizon and moved on to USC following being the Volunteers’ coach for but a single year. Most analysts now recognize that this purported Messiah had actually destroyed what he was hired to rebuild.

Can Kiffen coach?

The sad news for USC is that Len Kiffen is now their difficulty. That’s not to say that Lane is necessarily a terrible coach – given his short history in Tennessee, it is difficult to actually tell. He may well genuinely well turn out to have very a bit of coaching talent, and could even have the possible to be 1 in the really good ones. It may well also be that the issue for him is basically that Division 1 competition involves too much stress for a person like Kiffen. If that will be the case, his finest bet would be to perhaps begin yet again by coaching large school teams – if he can find 1 that suits his capabilities.
