The modern version of the fable “The Boy who Cried Wolf” has type of become “Brett Favre Retiring.” However, Brett Favre really has gone to practice with the Minnesota Vikings. The worm seems to have turned after some teammates visited him at home. It isn’t known if the holder of more NFL records than any other NFL quarterback hasn’t said he surely will make it through an entire season yet, but if last year and him showing up at practice is a good sign there’s a great chance he will. Minnesota has Brett Favre back

After months of speculation for the 3rd time already, Brett Favre decided to not retire and head to practice. According to ESPN, Favre stepped off a plane and headed to practice on Tuesday, Aug. 17. Last season, Brett Favre didn’t seem to need any stinking training camp. He led the Vikings on a burn and pillage campaign, including a merciless beating of the woeful Dallas Cowboys within the first playoff round. The season ended with a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Saints in the NFC Championship game, when Favre picked up the ankle injury.

Teammates may have made the main difference

The lynchpin in Favre’s decision may are some of his teammates. Some fellow Vikings went down to Hattiesburg, Miss., to Favre’s home to help him make his decision. Favre was visited by Steve Hutchinson, Ryan Longwell, and also the holder of arguably the pre-eminent mullet of our age, Jared Allen. They must have made quite the argument, because he flew back to Minnesota with them.

The only grandfather within the league for making a lot

As outlined by USA Today, Brett Favre will earn $20 million for this season if he plays. He may have to earn every penny. The opening eight games include a match against the Green Bay Packers, and they will want revenge. QB Aaron Rodgers was statistically one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL last year, and to knock off the Vikings, especially with Favre at the helm, can be quite the feather within the Packers’ cap.
