Good, but take their predictions with a grain of salt
Review Date: November 18, 2009
Reviewer: Alax Martin,
They try to replicate the Baseball Prospectus and generally do a good job. But some predictions, like the ones with Kevin Jones a few years back and Michael Turner last year were way off. Take it with a grain of salt but it is better than any magazine out there in the pre-season.
As always, a must read for all levels of football fans

This is the third year in a row I have bought Football outsiders Almanac (formerly Football Prospectus), and these books just keep getting better and better. More stats, more look into fantasy projections (which have been a HUGE help to me this year), and a much more in-depth look into college football. Overall, a great read, that makes feel like a much more informed fan when watching football.
Also, if you are a first time reader of these books, the Football Outsiders guys do a great job of explaining all of their stats, what they mean, and how they come about them. This gives you a great understanding of what they are trying to accomplish, and makes it easy for the reader to understand.
Again, as always, a much read for all football fans that want to know more about the game.
In Depth Analysis of America's Favorite Sport

This is year in and year out the best book to read when trying to get a better understanding of why NFL teams succeed and why others fail each season. Each edition is a wonderful look into the deeper factors that affect a team's performance, and this year's edition is no exception.
The only complaint I have is the seeming lack of specific subject essays from previous editions. Bring those back guys!

Only Yearly Football Book Worth Reading

This is hands down the only the yearly football publication worth reading. There really is nothing that compares. FOA 2009 has lots of great info for all 32 teams and even some new helpful sections for those who like fantasy football. All the information is presented in a clear and succinct format, so you can read it quickly. Definitely worth your money and time
