NFL Sunday Ticket and My Direct TV DVR

Fall is my favorite time of year. No not just because of the cooler temperatures and the leaves on the ground, but because it is now time for some football.

The college football season is awesome because after two months of almost nothing on TV as far as sports, suddenly you are engulfed with plenty of games every weekend. Sure I can take in a baseball game in person, but sitting and watching it on television puts a man to sleep. At least the Beijing Olympics provided some sports activity this summer.

I love both the college and the NFL games for several factors. The excitement involved in the college game is like nothing else. Each and every Saturday, thousands of screaming supporters fill up college stadiums in an effort to help the home team to victory. With the increase of network TV contracts, there are often great games on every Thursday and Saturday night as well. While I don’t really like the BCS system that is in place in the college ranks, one benefit to the setup is that every regular season game really is big. A college team may get away with one loss during the year, but if they want a shot at the title, then they can’t afford to lose twice.

The National Football League is a different beast, but just as good in my opinion. Again the passion is amazing, especially in the great NFL cities like Boston, Oakland, Chicago, and Kansas City. What makes the NFL interesting for many fans is the expansion of fantasy football. Sure some people go a little overboard, in that they use every waking moment evaluating their players and proposing ridiculous trades to the other fantasy players in the league. But if you get in with the right set of guys and gals, then fantasy football makes all of the games much more interesting.

This year I had to re-evaluate my television service, as Cox cable TV continued to disappoint me as far at their service and pricing. Luckily for me, I had a couple of choices, as AT&T U-Verse service is now in my area, as well as satellite television. After checking into my choices, I found there are great satellite television deals going on right now. So then it became the old DISH Network vs DirecTV debate Being the huge fan that I am, I just wouldn’t pass up the Sunday Ticket package that they offer. In addition, they offer great college football packages, including the Gameplan from ESPN. Overall, there is just more for your money when comparing satellite TV to Comcast. Plus, you just can’t beat the Direct TV DVR.

My spouse may not like that choice, but of course she will know where to find me, right in front of the television this fall!

Satellite Dish TV in 3D – Espn Gameplan

The television has been the most used entertainment device in almost all homes in the United States ever since it was invented. It is still the top media source in the home, though the home computer is gaining ground, and it looks like it will stay that way for a many years to come. It has surpassed both newspapers and radio transmission media in terms of use and profitability. But a television relies on a service provider and the two types from which we can choose from are satellite TV or cable television.

Cable TV is delivered through optical fiber cables and coaxial cables. The major advantage of cable television is that it the quality of its broadcast is not degraded in any way by mountains, trees or any other geographical features. The bad part of things from the cable company point of view is that it is costly to continually expand and maintain the cabling necessary to deliver the signals. Today cable TV is offered by more companies compared to satellite broadcasting. Well known companies are Comcast, Charter cable, Mediacom, Time Warner, and Cox cable. The competition to be the biggest and best cable company will ensure you that you will get your money’s worth.

Satellite dish television is the alternative to cable and is offered by just two companies in America. First is Dishnetwork and the other is Direct TV. Both of which rely on the receivers sold to their subscribers and they use communication satellites in order to deliver their programming. They usually have more networks compared to Comcast digital cable and usually cost quite a bit less than cable. Of course the capital expense involved here are the satellites that must be sent into orbit. There are lots of sources to read Direct TV Reviews and find out more about the company.

One of the good things about satellite is the wide variety of sports programming.  You can watch all kinds of football with the NFL Sunday Ticket.  If you prefer the college game, the ESPN Game Plan 2009 choice is the way to go.  And with the announcement of a new ESPN3D in 2010 then customers may have more football choices.

The good news for any customer is that there are different choices in the pay television market. Whether the preference be based on programming, prices, packages or customer service; the consumer will be able to find a suitable provider for him or her.
